Mike, his wife Carolyn and their daughters, Ella and Kate, attend Breslau Mennonite Church (MCEC).
Mike is available to lead seminars, preach sermons, teach Sunday School and do personal consultations with regards to will/estate and charitable gift planning. Mike works with Mennonite Church Eastern Canada (MCEC), Evangelical Mennonite Mission Conference (EMMC), Evangelical Mennonite Conference (EMC), and Evangelical Missionary Church of Canada (EMCC) churches in Ontario and the East.
Employment Background
Mike joined MFC as a stewardship consultant in the fall of 1999. Previous to working for MFC, Mike spent 15 years as a working journalist, including 12.5 years as a business reporter at The Record, in Kitchener, ON.
Education and Professional Development
Mike holds the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation. He also received the Elder Planning Counsellor (EPC) designation, conferred by the Canadian Institute for Elder Planning Studies (CIEPS). Other programs Mike has completed include Georgian College's Income Tax Part 1 and 2 and Planned Giving: Making it Happen, the Canadian Securities Institute's Professional Financial Planning course, and the Canadian Securities Course (Honours). Mike has an MA in Political Science - with Distinction from Wilfrid Laurier University and a BA, Honours Political Science and French from Wilfrid Laurier University.
Mike is a member of the Canadian Association of Gift Planners (CAGP).
