Abner Martin Music Scholarship
The Abner Martin Music Scholarship honours Abner Martin, the founding conductor of Menno Singers, a choir Abner organized in 1955 in the Kitchener-Waterloo area of Ontario. Each year a committee of Menno Singers selects a winner from among applications received before the September 15 deadline. Most recently the scholarship has had a value of $1,000.
To be eligible, an applicant must:
- Enroll in a full time music major or minor program at the undergraduate or graduate level during the upcoming academic year
- Have been affiliated for some time with a congregation in the Mennonite Church Eastern Canada
- Have demonstrated involvement and proficiency in musical activities in their church and community.
