Wills

MFC consultants are available to meet with individuals, to help you with the planning of your will or estate. The role of a MFC consultant in this setting is to answer any questions you have, to serve as a sounding board for ideas. If they don’t know the answers they will try to find them for you. This is a free service that we offer to encourage estate planning.

Here’s how you get started:

  1. Call your regional MFC office to set up an appointment with a consultant.
  2. Meet with the consultant to discuss the issues and plan the details for your will. (This usually takes between 30 minutes and 1 1/2 hours, plus any follow-up phone calls to complete things that require additional reflection.)
  3. The consultant forwards your instructions to you or the lawyer of your choice, for your will to be drafted.
  4. You review and sign your completed will, pay the lawyer and keep the lawyer’s invoice.
If you are a member or adherent of a congregation that is part of MFC’s participating conferences, you submit a request for an MFC Will Rebate on legal fees. We offer a rebate of half the cost of the legal fees up to $200.00 for those who use our counseling services as part of making or updating a will.
