Wills
MFC consultants are available to meet with individuals, to help you with the planning of your will or estate. The role of a MFC consultant in this setting is to answer any questions you have, to serve as a sounding board for ideas. If they don’t know the answers they will try to find them for you. This is a free service that we offer to encourage estate planning.
Here’s how you get started:
- Call your regional MFC office to set up an appointment with a consultant.
- Meet with the consultant to discuss the issues and plan the details for your will. (This usually takes between 30 minutes and 1 1/2 hours, plus any follow-up phone calls to complete things that require additional reflection.)
- The consultant forwards your instructions to you or the lawyer of your choice, for your will to be drafted.
- You review and sign your completed will, pay the lawyer and keep the lawyer’s invoice.
If you are a member or adherent of a congregation that is part of MFC’s participating conferences, you submit a request for an MFC Will Rebate on legal fees. We offer a rebate of half the cost of the legal fees up to $200.00 for those who use our counseling services as part of making or updating a will.
