June 2009-Blessed to be a blessing

Blessed to be a blessing. University is one of the most cash-tight times of life. Meet Kim Penner, a university student who has learned early on what a blessing it is to give.

As a child, I came to trust God and rely on his faithfulness when I was upset or lonely or in trouble. God provided for me emotionally. It was relevant to my needs. As I grew older, became a student away from home and developed financial needs, my existing relationship with God and my trust in His provision expanded to envelope this new need. The modeling and experience of God’s provision in other aspects of my life translated to monetary provision later when it became relevant. God provides. It just doesn't always look like it should. “The choices we make with our money can change the world.” Nathan Dungan, founder and president of "Share Save Spend" invites us to repeat this phrase aloud three times.  He uses this phrase, he says, “because it is aspirational and optimistic.  Click here for the second in a three-part series based on Dungan's presentation at the MFC 2009 Annual General Meeting.

Will you or Will you not?- and the survey says...We asked you, our readers, to tell us more about your estate plans- and you did! Ninety percent of respondents have a Will, but 50 percent admit that it needs updating.  Click here for more details.

We are in the process of revising our Estate Planning Guide and would love to have your feedback and input as we move forward. Would you take five minutes of your time to go through this online survey: MFC's Estate Planning Guide Survey? Your responses will help us draft the next version to better serve those looking to prepare for the future. With thanks ...

Distribution Recommendation or DR form is a tool developed by MFC to give our clients greater flexibility and therefore, make giving easier. It is simply a form that indicates what charities you want to support with your gifts made through MFC. It can be part of your giving now, and/or later as part of your estate plan. The flexibility means that if you change your mind about which charities or how much support you want to give, you do not have to make the changes through your lawyer. It is quick, free and easy. Ask us how.

Please share with us... so we may share them with others. Just send us an email or call one of our offices. We love hearing from you.
