Who are the right people?

Your estate plans are important and you need the right people to support them. But who are the right people? Choosing the right people to support your plans can be a critical component to successful implementation. Including them in the process, informing them of your choices and decisions and regularly reviewing your choices strengthens your plans.

So, who are they? Some people you may choose to include in your planning process are:

  1. Executor(s) or Estate Trustee(s)- the person or persons you choose to follow through with your Estate Plans upon your death and their alternates
  2. Power of Attorney: for Property and Personal Care
  3. Guardian(s)- the person or persons you choose to care for your minor children or dependents
  4. Lawyer or legal professional- the person who will write your Will and Powers of Attorney
  5. Heirs- including receiving charities
  6. MFC Consultant- an informed and objective counselor throughout the process
