Estate Planning Guide

MFC staff, through extensive research and practical experience, have developed an Estate Planning Guide to be used as a guide and workbook for individuals and couples who want to make wills and powers of attorney or do more complex estate planning.
The guideās 16 chapters, written in everyday language, discuss a broad range of estate planning and will making topics, including choosing executors and guardians, completing a net worth statement, distribution of bequests and estate residue, probate, and marriage contracts. A centre pullout section includes a comprehensive worksheet to help get you started with collecting and writing down important information needed to work through the process.
Individuals attending any of the churches in our participating conference may receive a copy free of charge by contacting any of our offices. The booklet can be purchased by anyone for $10.00. Special rates apply for congregations, organizations, and individuals affiliated with MFC.
To receive the maximum benefit from the material covered in the Estate Planning Workbook, it is advisable to meet with an MFC consultant, who can help explain the various aspects of will making and estate planning. Mennonite Foundation of Canada does not write wills. We see our task as that of preparing our clients for their meeting with a lawyer, who will draft the final documents.
Contact a MFC Consultant in your area to obtain your copy of the Estate Planning Guide.
