From Grateful to Generous

Stewardship Sermons by John H. Neufeld

John Neufeld is a former pastor, educator and college president. In this collection of sermons, first preached at First Mennonite Church, Winnipeg, MB, John tackled the subject of money and God head-on. His words carry the weight of authority – his keen insight into biblical principles and his familiarity with our modern cultural obsession with demanding more and better for ourselves, combine to create a timely and relevant series.

Elsie Rempel, director of Christian Education and Nurture for Mennonite Church Canada, has added a series of questions for each of the sermons that John has written expanding the audience beyond pastors writing sermons to groups and individuals wanting an inspirational and relevant study guide.

Topics include:

  1. Getting our Bearings- Rom 12:1-13
  2. Ancient Memories Revived- Gen 1:26-31, Psalm 8
  3. Talents, Trust and Risk- Matt 25:14-28
  4. Affluence, Attitudes and Action- 1Chr 29:10b-13, Deut 8:11-20, 1Tim 6:17-19
  5. Excel in This Also- 2Cor 8,9
  6. Much has Been Given- Luk 12:48, Phil2:4-11, 1Pet 4:8-11

Together, Elsie and John have created a significant resource for pastors, for church leaders, and for parishioners. Mennonite Church Canada and Mennonite Foundation of Canada have partnered to present this resource to their constituencies and churches.
